At the annual church Christmas party Hannah was able to meet Santa for the first time. She was really having fun all night and was even singing with the rest of us during the sing-along. But as all tired babies do she got fussy and fell asleep while we were in line to meet Santa. She woke-up right as we were ready to get pictures and she was in a daze for all of the pictures.

Getting Ready For the Holidays
We are so excited for the upcoming holidays. Spending lots of time together making presents and playing with our increasingly active girl. You can see from Hannah's changing dress that the weather has been crazy lately. The 80s one day and the 30s the next.
Our pensive little girl staring out the window while chewing on her little fingers.

Hannah getting all bundled up in her winter jammies from Didi. (They are still a little big. Her feet only reach the ankles.)

Hannah returning Mama's kisses.

It may look like she is mad, but really this is Hannah talking away the other morning.

Me and my sleeping baby looking so pensive again.

I am not sure why but Hannah found me very funny on Saturday morning and Josh did his best to capture it:

2 Months Old Today
Today was Hannah's 2 month check-up and shots. She did really well despite how fussy she has been the last few days. She was so excited she decided to wake Mom and Dad up 3 hours early and make sure that they were awake by screaming for an hour. After everyone got a nap we then had slept in and had to rush to get ready on time.
At 61 days old our beautiful little girl is 11 lbs. and 23 3/4 inches long.
The doctor said that her fussiness will probably pass soon and she is otherwise nice and healthy. The doctor was also amazed at how talkative Hannah is already. The shots went well, but she has spent most of the day wanting to be held while she sleeps.
Here is a great picture of Hannah sporting her fun band-aids and one of her cloth diapers that she loves.

Here is Hannah watching the Grinch last night on TV in her Bumbo (by the way she never lasts more than 5 mins watching TV, just long enough to get a picture and get bored).

And finally a video of our chatty girl after her doctor visit when she finally let me put her down.

Turkey Day
This year we had so much fun making our own Thanksgiving dinner for just us. While Mommy and Daddy made dinner and pie we thought Hannah would enjoy her first Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.

Then for the main event. We decided that it was okay that plans with friends fell through because there was no room at the table for anyone else.

And of course we had to have pie! We didn't want to make several big pies and have them half eaten so we made a bunch of mini-pies. This is Hannah after we told her that she had to wait until next year to try her first Thanksgiving pies.

So Mommy and Daddy made them disappear.

Here is Hannah looking adorable before church (before she pooped and peed all over while Mommy changed her diaper at church).

And here is a cute video of Hannah and Daddy having a chat after Hannah's morning nap. (You can kinda see how quickly she changes from happy to not.)

Grandma Sandy's Visit
We had a great visit with Grandma Sandy. She was a great help holding Hannah so that I could shower and made dinner for us which was amazing (and I learned some new recipes).
We went out to dinner for Cajun which was Hannah's first real dinner out, and she was great.

We went and introduced Grandma Sandy and Hannah to Mike the tiger at LSU (I promise we really saw the live Mike, but it was too dark to get a good picture).
And a few other cute pictures of Hannah:
This one is Hannah in her SwaddleMe. I think she looks like a Glow Worm (they were a stuffed animal in the 80's, maybe even a tv show) so that is what I call it. She sleeps really well in it thanks to my friend Julie who got me it after she found her daughter loved it.
And finally a picture of my favorite pouty lip that Hannah makes right after she is done laughing before she starts to cry. (Sorry it is a little washed out.)
And lastly a little video that Josh took.

Hannah Banana
So we had a lot of fun getting ready for Halloween around here.
So I decided that my Hannah had to be a banana for her first Halloween and I spent the last few weeks making patterns and sewing to get this awesome costume.

So then we decide that we should all match so I made Josh a Monkey costume and he made me a Banana Tree costume.

I also saw this really cool cake Jack-O-Lantern made from two bundt cakes so I wanted to try it out and here is the final product.

We found that if you make a dense cake like carrot cake you end up with a very short pumpkin.
And finally a few more cute smiles from Hannah.

All the faces of little Miss Hannah
Hannah has started making a lot of expressions lately and we have been trying to catch as many as possible on camera. So here are a few that we have caught:
This is my favorite. She makes her ooo ahh face when she is full and rested.

Smiling intentionally. She always seems to smile and coo right before she starts to scream.

Smiling while mostly not awake. She smiles a lot when she is just falling asleep or waking-up.

I call this the drama queen. She throws her arms around a lot in her sleep and I caught this great pose.

And finally here is a little video we made on Sunday.

First Real Bath and Shopping Trip
Hannah has started smiling this last week, but has made amazing progress avoiding letting us capture them with the camera. She has also started giggling a little, but only in her sleep, which I think makes it even funnier.
So Wednesday was a day of firsts for our little Hannah. First, Hannah's belly button made its debut. With a great need we decided to take a family trip to the grocery store and put some pants on our girl for the first time for our outing. She enjoyed the first half from the car seat in the cart and then decided that that was played out and needed to experience the rest in Mommy's arms.
And finally in honor of Miss Hannah's belly button we christened the baby tub with Hannah's first real bath, which she loved. She kept slouching to get further into the water which kept scaring Josh.

The First Week
So it is official we have survived the first week and even got a little bit of sleep during it.
So here are a few of the pictures that we captured:
So here are a few of the pictures that we captured:
Josh learning how to calm-down Hannah
Hannah getting clean for the first time at home
(not her favorite thing)
All clean chillin' with Dad sporting her faux hawk
The family all together
(In my defense I was feeding the little girl while Josh got ready)
Hanging out with Grandad
Cuddling with Didi
We were more than grateful to have Didi visit for the week so that we could get a little sleep and not have to worry about all that pesky cleaning and cooking. We had fun with the short time that Grandad was here to visit too.
Now we are just trying to settle into a routine and adjust to our new sleeping schedule. Josh is having a hard time dragging himself to work everyday instead of playing with his little girl or catching a little more shut-eye.
I will try to drag myself away from our beauty every once and a while to help keep everyone posted somewhat regularly.

And a warm welcome to Miss Hannah Renee Pruett
The events of this weekend went something like this:
Friday, October 1:
We went out to eat and to walk around as our last official date before the arrival of our little one. We went to bed about 10:30 or 11:00, as we are wont to do...nothing out of the ordinary.
Saturday, October 2:
Amanda wakes up at about 1:30 a.m. with painful contractions. After several failed attempts to wake me up at that time, she proceeds to draw a bath to get relief from the pain. At about 3:30, she finally succeeds in waking me up and we proceed to try to relieve her discomfort. At about 4:00 we call the hospital to say we are coming. They ask us to wait a little longer, so we don't arrive until about 5:30.

About twelve hours after labor pains first woke her up, Amanda's discomfort increases to the point that we rethink the epidural issue. The midwife broke her water shortly thereafter. And then...she stopped progressing. About 7:45 or 8 p.m., the midwife came in to check on her and announced that it was time to push. An hour and a half later, our little girl made her debut. It was exhilarating!
Sunday October 3:
Spent in recovery and learning how this whole parenting thing works. Thank you DiDi for your assistance!
We will, without a doubt, write more about this later. In the meantime, here are some stats:
Birth weight: 8 lbs. 10 oz.
Birth length: 21.5 inches
Head circumference: 13.5 inches
Belly circumference: 13.75 inches
Here are some pictures:
Monday, October 4:
Tests and monitoring and coming home...we are exhausted and looking forward to getting our little Hannah home and moving on with our life as a family.

Changing Table
Check out the cool changing table/dresser that we got from a friend who is moving.

I have been working to get it cleaned-up and ready for this little girl if she ever decides to come. I'm ready for her to come tomorrow. I just hope she is!

The Final Count Down

So here we are. Real evidence that I am as big as a bus and feel like it. We are busy cleaning and organizing the apartment so that we feel like we are ready for this little girl. We are really excited and anxious. T-minus 12 days (hopefully no more).
