Welcome to our soon to be beautiful home!

As of Monday the 13th we are officially home owners (for better or for worse). Here is the front with the beautiful Live Oak that is taking over the front yard. One of my favorite parts of the house.

And Hannah's room, though it could be any of the three smaller bedrooms because they all looked about the same when we bought it.

This is Josh and I as we started demolition a few hours after closing.

A little back ground on the house to understand the urgency for the demolition. The previous owners had three very nice and very huge German Shepherds that seemed to have full rain of the house and it really smelled like it. First order of business was to de-pop corn all of the ceilings and rip out all of the carpet to get rid of the smell and any buggies that the dogs left behind, and then paint all of the bedrooms (to continue to get the smell out) before the new carpet came in. That gave us a week of working during naps and after Josh got home from work. To say the least we are one tired family.

Welcoming Summer

I don't know if you have heard, but it has been crazy hot in Cajun Country lately and rather than complain we have tried to do our best to embrace the thermometer and hang out at the pool. Here is Hannah trying to jump out of my arms to cool down faster and make big splashes.

And here we are all tuckered out after a relaxing afternoon in the pool to kick off our Memorial Day weekend.

We had a great time at our friend Dave's annual Memorial Day Eve Party. Hannah was introduced to the wonders of a bounce house for the first time and really had fun with the little girls that were playing ball with her.

She also had a lot of fun with the traditional end of night silly string fight. She was really tired, not sure what was going on, and upset that she wasn't aloud to investigate with her mouth (Mommy said no way!).

Our week was rather uneventful, but we got to end it with my 27th Birthday. Josh made me this awesome checkerboard cake which I haven't had since high school. And he added the fancy touch of chocolate crumbles to the outside that made it even more amazing!

Life is Crazy!

We have had a crazy month. First we went to my little brother's wedding in Salt Lake. Here we are at the Airport several of which we spent a lot of time at over the week.

We stopped at BYU to reminisce and visit Uncle Hunter. Here is Hannah enjoying the beautiful flowers.

I would love to show you pictures of the wedding, but we were so busy having fun that we forgot to take any and will have to mooch pictures from other family members.

Since we were out West we decided to go the extra few hundred miles and visit the Pruett grandparents and introduce Hannah to Uncle Jason and Aunt Laura who drove up just for her. Here is Hannah getting her first piano lesson. She loved Grandma Sandy's mini piano.

And here are Hannah and I at our first Crawfish Boil. It was a lot of fun!

Here is our very resourceful girl. She has found that it is too hard to crawl with her toys in her hands and since they are in her mouth most of the time anyways she discovered this.

And here is Hannah with her awesome new horse from some great friends that decided not to bring it when they moved away.

Happy Easter!

We wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Easter! So like I promised here are a few pictures form the photo shoot that we had a couple of weeks ago.

And in honor of the Miracle of the Easter season Hannah wanted to perform her own miracle.

Pretty impressive for a girl with no teeth yet.

Little Miss Mover and Shaker

So in the last few weeks Hannah has found that she really likes moving around. She has learned to pull herself to a standing position on furniture and in her crib. I have found that her new found freedom makes naps a little trickier, but she loved surprising me when I went to get her up the other day with this great grin of achievement.

We got a jumper a few weeks ago that Hannah has really started to master.

Hannah has also started to grasp the whole crawling idea. She scoots around pretty good. She understands her legs need to move and her arms need to move, but she is just starting to understand that they need to move at the same time and I got a great video of it.

And here is a great picture of our first family hike. We went to Amicalola Falls while we were in Atlanta.

So we had a great week with Grandma Sandy last week! She helped watch Hannah while I got a few fillings and gave Hannah hours of fun so that I could get other things done. Hannah started some amateur crawling (which we have not yet caught on video) and is really trying hard to communicate more through talking, gestures, and finger painting in her dinner.

We also had a great photo shoot with my friend Jane the other day. She got some great shots despite the freakishly cold evening and a less than happy baby. I will get a few pictures posted as soon as I get them. But trust me the proofs look great.

We have been so busy!

Between our crazy life and a long trip to visit Grandad and DiDi we have be neglectful at keeping everyone up to date with what it going on in our life. So here is Hannah explaining it all.

This is Hannah's new favorite thing. She just started the other day and hasn't really stopped since.

Hannah's Blessing

So on January 30 (in honor of cousin Addyson's second birthday) Hannah was presented to our congregation at church and given her official Name and Blessing. Here are some pictures all dressed-up.

A side note: That is the first headband that I made entirely myself for Hannah thanks to dollar store flowers and an extra pair of white baby tights.

Hannah's Mouth

So lately Hannah's mouth has become a magnet for everything. First she discovered that her Christmas toys are lots of fun. First she fell in love with the Teddy Bear that Great-Grandma Thevenin sent her (we named him Dan).

Then she started challenging Captain Calamari to wrestling matches. She lost this one.

Then Hannah found that her toes are a lot of fun. Here she is enjoying a snack on them after a bath.

And more recently she has found that food tastes pretty good too. This is an apple slice that she stole form Mommy.

And then we started her on rice cereal. She was loving it so much she decided to take it into her own hands. Yes, there is a little cereal on the spoon and these were taken in order the second successful day of eating cereal.

We had a great Christmas visiting family in Atlanta.

I had a great present in my stocking.

Hannah and here cousin Addyson had a blast together. Here they are in their matching Elf pajamas ready for Christmas eve stories and bed before Santa.
